The series of secretarial courses provide practical training for a competent secretary. Participants can complete each course in approximately seven to nine months. Through intensive training in various secretarial disciplines, participants can equip themselves with skills which are highly valued by potential employers. City & Guilds Secretarial and Administration Diploma (First level) (City & Guilds Course Contents 1st term 1. Book-keeping 2. Putonghua/Chinese Correspondence 3. Office Procedures* * subjects required by the City & Guilds First Diploma Entry Requirements: Preferably Form 5 Duration: 2 terms (approximately 7 months), with 3 subjects per term and 30 lecture hours per subject. Tuition Fee: HK$3,300 per term / HK$1,200 per subject (Tuition fees do not include examination fees for professional examinations) 2nd term 4. Word Processing Techniques* 5. Spreadsheet Processing* & Desktop Publishing* 6. English for Business Communications* Advanced Certificate in Executive Secretarial Studies GAPI-45139-2009-1 This course is most suitable for those who desire to enhance their secretarial skills in the profession and for those who prepare to attain a higher level of the City & Guilds Secretarial and Administration Diploma (Intermediate Level) (City & Guilds ). Course Contents: 1st Term 1. English for Business Communications II 2. Office Procedures II 2nd Term 3. Intermediate Word Processing Techniques 4. Computer Applications II Entry Requirements: Form 5; or Holder of Certificate in Secretarial Studies (HKMA); or equivalent. Duration: 2 terms (approximately 9 months), with 2 subjects per term and 40 lecture hours per subject. Tuition Fee: HK$3,000 per term / HK$1,600 per subject (Tuition fees do not include examination fees for professional examinations) Award of HKMA Certificates 1. Attendance: A minimum attendance of 70% per subject is required for participants to sit the final examinations at the end of the term. 2. 3. Participants will be awarded single subject certificates if they pass the final examination for each subject. Upon satisfactory completion of all subjects, participants will be awarded the Group Certificate in Secretarial Studies / Advanced Certificate in Executive Secretarial Studies. Exemptions Applicants may be exempted a total of TWO subjects from the Certificate in Secretarial Studies and a total of ONE subject from the Advanced Certificate in Executive Secretarial Studies before commencement of classes. Applicants who have completed equivalent modules in programmes offered by HKMA or other institutions may apply for exemptions. Copies of certificates attained should be attached to the Application and Exemption Forms. Applicants of the exemption must submit their applications before the training courses have commenced.
