                               CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT POLICY
I.        PURPOSE
          The purpose of this policy is to define levels of authority to make decisions about contract changes
          applicable to an ongoing construction project.
II.       GENERAL STATEMENT OF POLICY
          To allow the school district the opportunity to review construction plans and adjust them as needed
          to insure timeliness, quality, and value.
III.      PROCEDURE
          A. The following schedule will be used in the event of a contract change that is a result of an
              unforeseen condition:
              1. Contract changes less than $50,000 shall be the responsibility of the superintendent or his/her
                  designee. The responsible party may bring the decision to the next level of authority as
                  deemed necessary.
              2. Contract changes for more than $50,000 but less than $l00,000 shall be the exclusive
                  responsibility of the superintendent. The responsible party may bring the decision to the next
                  level of authority as deemed necessary.
              3. Contract changes for more than $100,000 but less than $250,000 shall be the responsibility of
                  the Review and Evaluation standing committee of the school board. The responsible party
                  may bring the decision to the next level of authority as deemed necessary.
              4. Contract changes for more than $250,000 shall be the exclusive responsibility of the school
                  board.
          B. All value added contract changes shall be the exclusive responsibility of the school board.
