     Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector
                            (PTLLS)


Entry requirements:

This nationally recognised qualification is suitable for anyone who is currently working in a
training, tutoring or assessing role, or who is entering this profession. PTTLS is a
professional teaching qualification and assessment includes a theory assignment and a 30
minute teaching session so you will need to be able to express yourself clearly and
effectively in writing and verbally. You will also need a qualification or experience in the
subject area you intend to teach.

Delivery:

The PTLLS course is delivered through half-day workshops each week for 6 weeks, with
home study in between sessions. The course can also be completed using a mix of
distance learning and observation, for those who are unable to attend the workshops.

Venue:

In your organisation (minimum 10 learners)
or
In the Black Country (details to be confirmed, depending on the location of learners)

Fees:

The course fee of £400+VAT includes course materials, registration and certification.

• planning a teaching session and creating a scheme of work
• the role of the tutor
• the training cycle
• meeting individual learner needs
• teaching and learning methods
• assessment methods
• evaluation strategies
