Event Content
This training programme has been designed to provide essential knowledge and understanding of health and safety for employees working in any sector of business, whether manufacturing commerce public sector or the service industries. Good health and safety standards rely on employers and employees working together to reduce risks and prevent accidents and ill-health arising from work activities. Employers have a responsibility to provide safe and healthy workplace conditions as well as safe systems of work and methods of workplace activities. An essential element of any safe system is the knowledge and attitude of employees and this demands proper training in the basics of health and safety as well as specific training for individual tasks. This course provides a foundation of knowledge required by everyone. The learning is assessed through exercises during the course and a 30 question assessment paper provided by C.I.E.H with multi-choice answers. There is a one-hour time limit, although this may extended for those with special needs or learning difficulties. Papers will be sent to C.I.E.H for marking.

Learning Outcomes

Results and certificates
Results will be sent to Voluntary Action Charnwood, after about 4/5 weeks time, along with the certificates for the successful candidates.

An administration fee of £10 will be charged. Verbal cancellations will not be accepted but you may delegate a colleague to attend in your place, rather than forfeit the course fee. No refund will be made for bookings cancelled less than 21 days before the event or for non-attendance on the day, apart from exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of Voluntary Action Charnwood. In such circumstances, write to the Marketing & Information Officer, giving full details of why you were unable to attend, enclosing any supporting evidence, e.g. a doctor’s note. Cancellations by Voluntary Action Charnwood Occasionally it is necessary to cancel events due to unforeseeable circumstances or insufficient number of bookings. In this case, we will give you as much notice as possible of the cancellation. You will be offered the choice of a full refund of the fees paid or a credit note, which can be used for further bookings.
