Course description: Welding prepares the student with occupational skills in
welding construction. It cover not only the hard skills which are the four position
welding techniques (flat, vertical, horizontal and overhead) utilizing Oxy-
Acetylene welding (OAW), Shielded Metal-Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc
Welding (GMAW) Processes. But will cover soft skills that will include
communication, working cooperatively, leadership, and critical thinking skills.

  1. Come to class ON TIME!

  6. Follow directions and RULES!!!!!!




Rules
   1. Horseplay is strictly prohibited!!!(its all fun and games until
      someone gets hurt and gets blood on my shop floor)
   2. Appropriate language please!
   3. Dress appropriately
         a. No open toed shoes
         b. Long hair tied back
         c. No loose Jewelry
   4. Please STAY ON TASK!!!!
   5. MUST HAVE SAFTEY GLASSES WHILE WORKING IN THE
      LAB!!!!

Report all injuries to the instructor no matter if you think it is minor.

   *SEVERE DISRUPTIONS WILL BE
   IMMEDIATELY REFERRED TO THE ASSISTANT
   PRINCIPAL.

   Grading

   40% - Work ethics
   30% - Lab work
   20% - Tests
   10% - Daily worksheets

   *Your work ethics and performance will be graded daily
   both in the classroom and the laboratory.

   You must follow the building and class guidelines and
   pass at least two of the three marking periods in order to
   be eligible for credit in this class.
  A student may elect to receive a letter grade A, B, C, etc.,
  or they may take the course Pass / Fail. Pass / Fail means
  a student will do the same work as they would for a letter
  grade but a letter grade will not be assigned. Therefore,
  taking this course Pass / Fail will not affect your
  accumulated or current grade point average. The student
  must submit a signed ( student and parent) Pass / Fail
  agreement form before the end of the 9th week of the
  semester.
