This is a listing of informal rides and other gatherings that are available to HSTA members. Even though these are not large national events, they are a major part of the total HSTA experience. Join in, and spread the word! It’s recommended to contact the organizer before attending, for their planning purposes, and in case of a change in the event plans. The state newsletters, many of which are available at ridehsta.com, are a good source of details and additional events. Unless, Sue and the Moab Rim Campground change their policy, I'll be calling them with a list of names on 1/1/09. Thursday March 5th 09 HSTA Daytona Bike Week Lunch 2009 rfoxrdr@bellsouth.net Daytona Beach, Florida HSTA Daytona Bike Week (2009) Lunch will be Thursday March 5th 09 at the Backwater Inn, Astor Park FL. Lunch will start at 1200, separate dining area, Salad Bar or order off the menu, reserved parking for Bikes. The Backwater Inn is located 30 minutes west of Daytona on US 40. May 22-25, 2009 Memorial Day Colorado Run Becky Wing, 479-824-5738 , email bwing@pgtc.com Arkansas <>Colorado Bill & Becky Wing have hosted a small gathering of friends every year to run to Colorado from Arkansas and back over the Memorial Day weekend. This small group of friends has gotten larger over the years and the ride has had greater attendance numbers than some National events. The itinerary is very simple: Meet Friday evening at the Holiday Classic Motel in Raton, New Mexico Depart Raton at Daybreak Saturday morning for Western Colorado Spend Saturday night in either Montrose, Durango, Silverton or whatever Depart Western Colorado for the Holiday Classic Motel in Raton at Daybreak Sunday morning Monday morning head back home HSTA membership is not a requirement, there are no fees but a good attitude is appreciated. The only requirement is to give Becky a firm commitment at least two weeks in advance, in this case that would be May 7th 2009. Becky always arranges for an excellent group rate at the motels and the evening meal locations. August 28-30, 2009 Indy MotoGP Moose Parish, mooseparish@sbcglobal.net Indianapolis, Indiana The 2009 edition of the Indy MotoGP will be held on August 28, 29, 30, 2009. So far we have 35 seats reserved in the HSTA section. If you want a seat in grandstand H, section 20, top 5 rows, contact me at mooseparish@sbcglobal.net for more info. Seats are $125.00 each. They include discount coupons, parking pass for the back straight and a lap of the track on Monday, 8/31. Bo's Parking/ Primitive Camping will be our main gathering point again. A ride for Kids event at Bo’s is in the works again for 2009. Stay tuned for more info as time goes on.
