Florida Campus Compact is seeking an experienced professional to fill a new position to help promote the civic purposes of higher education in the State of Florida. Position: Executive Director Location: Florida State University, Tallahassee: Florida’s Capital City Organization: Florida Campus Compact (FCC) is one of 22 state compact networks affiliated with the National Campus Compact. Campus Compact is a national coalition of college and university presidents committed to the civic purposes of higher education. To support this civic mission, Campus Compact promotes community service that develops students’ citizenship skills and values, encourages collaborative partnerships between campuses and communities, and assists faculty who seek to integrate public and community engagement into their teaching and research. Job Description: Responsible for fulfilling the mission of Campus Compact by integrating administrative, service, and project oriented goals. Works to build relationships with key institutional personnel and governmental leaders. Maintains frequent contact with National Campus Compact and other state compacts as well as relevant state and national organizations. Manages annual budget and collects dues from member colleges and universities. Plans and develops conferences, training seminars, recognition events, and other programming designed to support the purposes of FCC. Provides members with relevant information, promotional materials, grant information, and other service related updates. Actively recruits new member institutions and seeks to serve and maintain current member institutions. Qualifications: Masters Degree in appropriate area of specialization and five years experience in higher education administration, non-profit managements, or equivalent role. Experience with service learning, government, and civic education are all highly desired. An ability to work with students, faculty, high- level college and university administrators, and public officials is expected. Strong public speaking ability and presentation skills are highly desired. Ability to solicit grants and private funds is required.
