Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., August 14, 2008 – The EWGA semi-final championship for the
Ohio Valley area of the Executive Women’s Golf Association was held on August 2 at the Golf
Center at Kings Island in Mason, Ohio. The first place gross and net winners in each flight
advance to the final round of the EWGA Championship presented by Callaway Golf, considered
the largest amateur women’s golf competition in the United States.

A mother and daughter from the Central Indiana chapter, Melaney and Holly Brockman
advanced to the finals without competition in the first and championship flights. However, the
medalist was Deb Ballam from Columbus, Ohio, playing in the third flight, who shot a personal
best score of 87.

The 36-hole championship finals will be held at The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club in Aloha,
Oregon on September 26 -27, 2008. Now in its 13th year, this annual nationwide competition
had 2447 participants in 2007.
