Newsletter September 2009 Bradford on Avon Chamber of Commerce Carbon Neutral by 2050 At our recent meeting, we unanimously agreed to support Climate Friendly Bradfordʼs 2050 Carbon Neutral Declaration. Climate Friendly Bradford will attend our next general meeting to discuss how this could work. A working group will also be set up to include members from the various organisations in the town to agree an action plan, and to provide a forum to support and advise businesses and individuals in achieving this target. Bath Lions You may remember, Bath running a highly successful public art event last year with lots of pigs appearing in and around the Bath. Next May, they will be repeating this popular event, but this time it will be with Lions. We have successfully applied for 3 Lions for Bradford on Avon and this should help to attract lots of visitors and interest to the town from Bath. Each Lion costs £1,150. Mini Lions will also be available at £35. We have already had a number of enquiries about sponsoring these Lions. Just to let all the Chamber know that the objection to the EDUCATION will now be led by Jane Wragg who has taken licence for the street party has not been upheld and it has been granted. There has however been an amendment over from Jackie Allan who will spend more time which does not allow the school to let any stalls out to developing the Women In Business network for Bradford on businesses.
