The Year in Pictures
For the third year in a row, racers from the Amgen Tour of California rolled through Santa Rosa. Spectators cheered all the racers as they wound their way through the streets, and finished in the heart of downtown. For the first time, a Women’s Criterium was included as part of the race and was declared an absolute success. The Tour thrilled all who watched it and raised funds for cancer care and treatment in the process.

Race Equality Week & Festival
In recognition and celebration of Santa Rosa’s diversity, Community Baptist Church, the City of Santa Rosa, and a wide cross-section of organizations and members of our community launched the Fourth Annual Race Equality Week
The purpose of this week was twofold: First, to spotlight the issues of racism and discrimination and the problems that many are still subjected to; and second, to showcase what Santa Rosa and Sonoma County are doing to promote race equality and a celebration of our diversity.
In doing this, we joined cities throughout the nation that take time each year to honor the many groups which make our country so strong and to attain the goal of racial equality, which is enshrined in our state and federal constitutions. The festival was the culmination of the week-long celebration, featuring cultural booths and bringing to life, through interactive, hands-on activities, the dance, music, food, art, crafts of cultures around the world.
