The data also indicate that a powerful driver of this phenomenon is a perceived inability to balance the competing demands of firm and family. Presented by prominent women lawyers, this seminar shares practical tips on how to achieve success in the practice of law while maintaining a satisfying life outside the firm. State and federal employment laws that govern such issues as parttime work, flexible work hours, working from home and other “family-friendly” employment practices will be addressed. Zainab Salbi inspires audiences with her personal experience as a survivor of war and her dedication to rebuilding war-torn communities, one woman at a time. She was the 2006 recipient of the Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize. Women for Women International helps women rebuild their lives by providing the tools and resources to move from crisis and poverty to stability and self-sufficiency. Strong leaders build upon their natural strengths and comfort zones to develop the skills and strategies that enable them to communicate effectively and craft strong, effective relationships. These interrelated skills are the building blocks for success. In this interactive workshop, Karen B. Kahn of KM Advisors teaches today’s busy, strong, independent woman how to enhance her interpersonal communication skills and expand the nature of her relationships in order to achieve greater success on the job and at home. Karen offers concepts, strategies and practical tools for communicating more effectively in the courtroom and boardroom, with clients and peers, and more personally, with family and friends.
