10 Guidelines for Effective Video Programs
Never show any media that has not been previewed. Order media well in advance of the show date. Remember that memorable visual experiences require careful preparation. They don’t “just happen”. Remember that no two groups are alike. The same media will evoke different responses from different audiences. Read the Leader’s Guide for insights and creative program ideas and activities. Plan an interesting introduction to the media, without telling the group what to look for. Thoroughly inspect and test all video projection equipment to be sure it works properly. Use media carefully, trying carefully not to damage it. IF it is damaged do not attempt to repair it and return all damaged pieces. Return media the day after use, if it is needed longer please call to see if it is available. Remember that your role as a program leader is an important one. With creative planning and thoughtful preparation, your group will experience enjoyable opportunities to learn, grow and share together.

Reservations
Reservations should be made at least two weeks in advance to insure availability. We cannot guarantee items reaching you when orders are received in less than two weeks. If possible, give alternate dates and/or titles. If we cannot provide your first or alternate choice, we will try to find a substitute in consultation with you. Previewing $1.00, per item, for previewing media outside of the Center. Previewing in the Media Center is available by appointment. Overdue Charges $.50 per item, per day. Damage Fees Damage charges will be applied based on replacement parts and labor. In case of extensive damage, you will be charged for replacement of item damaged. Pickup & Mailing Information
Materials may be picked up during office hours the day before scheduled use. Materials to be mailed are mailed five working days before date of use. They should reach you the day before scheduled use so as to allow time for preview. It is very important to preview all materials. If in previewing you find the item unsuitable for scheduled use, please let us know and adjustment will be made. Please return all materials the next day unless instructed otherwise. Items should not be held over unless you have contacted the Media Center. Others may have reserved these items for use after you. Materials not returned on time without authorization are subject to additional charges.
Media Contracts
Media Contracts are available to catholic parishes and schools within the Archdiocese of Omaha. Contracts run yearly from July 1st through June 30th. By purchasing a media contract you have unlimited use of videos, DVDs and CDs. If you order a large amount of media, the contract will be a better arrangement for you. The cost is dependant on the number of families in your parish and does not include, postage, overdue or damage fees. High Schools pay a flat rate.
