The North Brooklyn YMCA summer day camp provides youth with a summer full of fun-filled supervised activities that teach and promote self confidence, leadership skills, teamwork and selfreliance. The YMCA’s core values of respect, responsibility, honesty and caring are integrated into each activity which reinforces positive behavior. Campers participate in games, art and craft activities, explore science and technology, swim, attend field trips and discover and value various cultures. The North Brooklyn YMCA is licensed by the New York City Department of Health and accredited by the American Camping Association.

Day Camp is designed for children 5 – 13 years old. Our program includes a variety of activities designed to offer something for every child, to encourage each child to explore new interests and to take advantage of the cultural resources available in New York City. Swimming classes supervised by trained lifeguards provide recreational and instructional swim.
At the YMCA, we work to ensure that no child is ever turned away for inability to pay. Every year, our Strong Kids Campaign raises funds to support YMCA youth programs like day camp and sleepaway camp, and enable us to offer need-based scholarships to participants on a case by case basis. Applications are available at the Membership Office. Last day for financial aid applications is May 31, 2008.

At registration you must provide a completed medical form, which must be filled out by a doctor and signed by parent or guardian. Your child/children cannot be registered without this form. The forms are available online or at the Membership Office. To reserve a space, full payment of one month of camp must be submitted with the application. This payment will be applied to your child’s first month of camp.
