The Importance of Smoke-Free Dining Ashley Area Restaurants: Longbranch Pizza, 114 E. High St., 740-747-4444 Delaware County Smoke-Free Dining Guide Secondhand smoke, also known as Environmental Tobacco Smoke (ETS), is a major cause of illness across the United States. Secondhand smoke has been found to contain over 4,000 chemicals, 40 of which are known to cause cancer in humans. Some of the effects of secondhand smoke include: *Heart Disease *Lung Cancer and many other cancers *Respiratory tract infections *Serious respiratory diseases such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder (COPD). There is no safe exposure to secondhand smoke for any person of any age, therefore it is very important for individuals to limit their exposure to ETS as much as possible. Ventilation systems in restaurants with both smoking and non-smoking sections have been found to be ineffective in removing secondhand smoke from the air. Smokefree dining is just one great way to reduce your exposure to secondhand smoke! Delaware Area Restaurants: Apple Tree Cottage Tea Room, 333 W. Central Ave. Avesta Eclectic Cuisine, 12 S.
