A teacher-librarian describes how labeling books in her fiction section according to grade-level readability made it easier for students who were informed about their reading level to choose appropriate reading material. The two final chapters provide vignettes from primary and intermediate classrooms in which teachers have successfully integrated the use of text analysis tools into their teaching to match readers with texts, sometimes using more than one tool, depending on the reading needs of particular children.
