After taking into account demographic trends, the school's financial situation and the state of its aging buildings, regional parishes determined that they were in no position to manage the massive undertaking needed to sustain the school. The old building, constructed in 1916, needed extensive renovation, including new windows, new heating and air-conditioning system, new roof, painting, flooring and upgrades to science and computer labs, at the very least.
