During the 2007-2008 academic year, the 742 students at Saint Catharine's raised nearly $6,000, wrote hundreds of letters to gain support, appeared on radio to raise awareness, attended the First International Conference on the Congo and engaged student leaders from 14 Mercy high schools across the country in the effort. No strangers to raising money-SCA was one of 14 Mercy high schools from across the country that joined forces to raise funds to help build an elementary school in Cambodia - they ran raffles, conducted bake sales, placed loose-change jars throughout the school and committed the proceeds from International Night to the project rather than to club budgets.
