The courtroom was filled to capacity. As the proceedings got under way, I nervously fingered the folder into which my handwritten statement was pasted. After the swearing in, it was my turn to address the court and the people filling the room. I looked around. We have come from different corners of the globe, driven by different motives and aspirations, united by the same desire: to become citizens of the United States.
