Screamin' Eagle Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson rider Eddie Krawiec is picking up speed in his second year wearing the legendary moniker on his leathers, and after finishing seventh in the NHRA POWERade Pro Stock Motorcycle points last season, he is making a serious play for this year's title and looks to have everything it takes to succeed in his quest, including knowledgeable and experienced crew chief and tuner Matt Hines, who earned three Pro Stock Motorcycle championships and claimed 30 wins in 47 finals over the course of seven years as a rider for Vance & Hines. At the conclusion of the O'Reilly NHRA Mid-South Nationals, Hines had tuned Krawiec, then holding the second spot in the Pro Stock Motorcycle points standings, to three low qualifier awards this season and two runner-ups, and although Krawiec had yet to win a national event, he upped his value when he swept the Ringers Gloves Pro Bike Battle, which Hines won four times in his brief riding career. Krawiec, who earned nine victories in 23 final rounds as an AMA Prostar rider, has enjoyed the added benefit of refining his riding skills with advice from Hines, teammate and three-time world champion (and Matt's brother) Andrew Hines, and Terry Vance and Byron Hines, an exceptionally successful duo that has been earning motorcycle victories and championships together for more than 30 years.
