You should put some measurable goals on paper, such as the number of customers you'll have and the average profit margin. Weigh what you've invested in equipment and materials, people and training, marketing and administration - against the revenue and profit the service has brought in. "It's not fair to speak in generalities," [Dickran Babigian] says, "but any landscaping-related service should be bringing in 30-40% gross profit."
