Chairman Howard Jonas said last week that he will take his base compensation, about $750,000 a year, in IDT stock instead of cash from 2009 through 2011. Although that represents only about one-quarter of the $3.1 million in total compensation lonas received in 2007, the move will conserve cash at the Newark-based company.
