There are four goals: to increase the number of RNs educated at the BSN level; to increase the pursuit of graduate education; to enhance racial and ethnic diversity; and to encourage careers in public health and gerontological nursing. * In California, the Bay Area Workforce Funding Collaborative will launch several initiatives, including a community college capacity building initiative with a focus on strengthening nursing education programs. * In Washington, the Comprehensive Gerontologie Education Partnership will train a cohort of nursing students with a gerontologie focus and provide faculty development to improve the status of gerontological instruction and clinical work. * South Texas Acts for Nursing Development (S.T.A.N.D.), a regional partnership that includes major and rural health care systems, will establish a workforce management center to serve as a bridge between schools of nursing and clinical agencies.
