Sis shares his experience while teaching art in America. Growing up in a country were art education had a long tradition, Sis knew he was up for a challenge in the US. He was offered a job as a teacher of illustration at what was then the Otis Art Institute of Parsons School of Design in Los Angeles. He was lucky: twenty-seven students signed up for his class. Instead of concentrating on the way his students drew or painted, he wanted them to demonstrate to him that they were prepared to sacrifice everything for ART. This did not go well. His students complained to the school, and after just a few weeks he lost two-thirds of his class, and was terminated.
