SMALL GROUP TOURS ACROSS THE TOP END OF AUSTRALIA

2008-2009 SMALL GROUP 4WD TOURS ACROSS THE TOP END OF AUSTRALIA, INCLUDING: KAKADU NATIONAL PARK LITCHFIELD NATIONAL PARK AND THE KIMBERLEY Small Groups, ● BIG Adventure! EXCLUSIVE ABORIGINAL CULTURAL EXPERIENCE ● ACCESS TO SPECIAL PERMIT AREAS ● PRIVATE CROCODILE AND WILDLIFE CRUISE ● EXPERIENCED AND KNOWLEDGEABLE GUIDES Wilderness 4WD Adventures have been specializing in small group (9-16 max), nature-based 4-wheel drive Kakadu and Kimberley tours since 1990. We provide a highly organised camping experience for young, active and adventurous people with a love of nature and a thirst for knowledge. As you’d hope, we also have heaps of fun swimming in drop dead gorgeous waterholes, checking out the amazing wildlife and just hanging out. Our passion is the Top End of Australia and we’d love to show you why - from Darwin to the world famous Kakadu National Park, Litchfield National Park, Katherine Gorge and through the Kimberley Region in Western Australia. We offer a comprehensive selection of 4WD camping tours that can take you exploring through all of these destinations. EXPERIENCE THE EBB AND FLOW OF A TIMELESS LAND We do quite a lot of bushwalking into very special areas where swimming and rock climbing are daily events making it perfect for adventurous people. Our aim is to “get away from the crowds” and take passengers into the more isolated areas of the Northern Territory and the Kimberley to really experience the feeling of time standing still. Because of our commitment to low impact tourism and the special relationship we have with local Aboriginal landowners, we have exclusive Access Permits to a number of areas well away from other tours. This way you really can feel part of the countryside and not feel like you’re “on tour”. We pride ourselves on high levels of customer satisfaction and always receive positive feedback from people who have travelled on our tours. We are confident that all of our guides have the ability to provide you with a hugely enjoyable and exciting experience. If this sounds good to you and you want a perfect adventure holiday in Kakadu or the Kimberley, then take a tour with Wilderness 4WD Adventures. You won’t be disappointed. WE TAKE YOU WHERE OTHERS CAN’T Wilderness 4WD Adventures holds a number of Restricted and Exclusive Permits that allow us to take you away from the main tourist trail and into some of the more remote areas of the Top End. This way you can immerse yourself in magical surroundings, hiking into beautiful secluded waterfalls where you can really sense the timelessness of ancient landscapes dating hundreds of millions of years without a heap of other tourists. Wilderness 4WD has secured these Special Permits over other companies because of our commitment to low impact group sizes, nature based tourism and our willingness to work with and respect the wishes of local Aboriginal people. We have two Exclusive Permits to Upper Tolmer Falls and Upper Sandy Creek Falls in Litchfield National Park, that is, we are the only commercial tour operator allowed access. In Kakadu National Park we have two Restricted Permits with Wilderness 4WD being only one of three companies with scheduled access to Koolpin Gorge and one of two companies authorised to visit Graveside Gorge. Koolpin Gorge - Permit Area. Kakadu Culture Camp. HANDS-ON ABORIGINAL CULTURAL EXPERIENCE The Top End of the Northern Territory is home to descendants of the first arrivals to the continent over 40,000 years ago, the region rich in cultural history. There are a host of Aboriginal rock art sites with some like Ubirr Rock and Nourlangie Rock regarded as amongst some of the most significant art sites in the world. However, to gain a true understanding of the culture of the local Aboriginal people, which is as alive today as it was thousands of years ago, you can’t go past a visit to the Kakadu Culture Camp which Wilderness 4WD Adventures offers exclusively on many of its tours. The facility is owned and operated by local Bininj (Aboriginal) people and was established as a place where they could share their culture and traditional heritage with tourists from around the world. You’ll get an amazing insight into the Aboriginal people’s traditional way of life – told to you by the local people instead of by a tour guide. Learn about traditional foods, listen to the Dreamtime stories of the local Kakadu people as well as joining in some hands on experiences spear throwing, playing the didgeridoo and weaving. GREEN SEASON TOURS EXPERIENCE KAKADU AND LITCHFIELD UNDERGO A MAJOR TRANSFORMATION At this time of year (November to April) you can experience Kakadu and Litchfield as they undergo a major transformation – from dry and empty watercourses after 7 months with little rain, to a bounty of life emerging after wild lightning storms bring much needed rain. Dry riverbeds begin to flow bringing dormant waterfalls to life that then fill the floodplains. The bush turns lush green and the wildlife becomes active with plenty of food on offer (not you guys hopefully). GET AWAY FROM THE CROWDS INTO RESTRICTED PERMIT AREAS We visit the best destinations accessible at this time of year with plenty of hiking, swimming and exploring the wonders of the region. We’ll get you away from the crowds and into the more isolated areas of Kakadu and Litchfield, including Special Permit areas. The rain and the humidity make sleeping in tents impossible at this time of year. From December to March we offer air conditioned accommodation on all of the tours and the campsite has sheltered social areas in case of rain. The following tours offer a number of options of varying duration for visiting Kakadu and/or Litchfield National Park at this amazing and less crowded time of year. 2 Day Kakadu Adventure $375 Discount Available (See General Information) Departs Darwin: Daily 6:30am Valid: 1st December 2008 – 31st March 2009. Private Charters If you like the idea of independent travel where you decide where you go, how long you stay and who you go with, but don’t have the resources or knowledge to do it, then a Private Charter is the next best thing. We offer Private Charters for families, groups of friends, schools and businesses who want to experience the Top End of the Northern Territory on their own terms. We cover from Arnhem Land and Kakadu National Park in the east through Nitmiluk National Park (Katherine Gorge), Litchfield National Park and right across to the Kimberley in the north of Western Australia. Our extensive vehicle range enables us to handle most group sizes from a couple right up to 30 people or more in 4-wheel drive vehicles and trailers fitted out for the bush. Another major benefit of a Private Charter is that we supply an experienced Guide to ensure your trip goes smoothly, utilising their bush skills and imparting their wealth of knowledge and understanding on subjects such as Aboriginal and European history, geology and the diverse flora and fauna. With 17 years experience, we will ensure your Private Charter is something you will remember for a lifetime. We can help with planning your itinerary, meals and beverages as well as advice on places to see that you may not be aware of. For more information please feel free to call us to discuss your requirements on 1300 666 100 or email us with your enquiry.
