A BRIEF HISTORY
Ainscough Crane Hire Ltd was formed in 1976 by Gerald Ainscough and his family. In 2007 the company was bought by the management team, backed by Bank of Scotland Integrated Finance, ensuring that the business maintained its market leading position as the UK’s largest crane hirer. HIRE OPTIONS
All crane hire companies work to the terms and conditions of the CPA (Construction Plant-Hire Association) and in accordance with (BS7121) ‘The Safe Use of Cranes’. When hiring a crane from Ainscough you have the option to hire on a CPA Crane Hire or CPA Contract Lift Basis. In accordance with Health and Safety Executive guidelines, Ainscough can only provide a crane on a CPA Crane Hire basis if the customer provides a qualified and experienced appointed person to plan and take responsibility for the lifting operation. In this high risk industry we recommend that customers who are not experienced in hiring cranes and therefore are not aware of the responsibilities,
duties and risks, take advantage of our CPA Contract Lift service, for peace of mind. Please view the hire options available on pages 5 & 6 of this brochure, however should you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact any one of our depots where a member of our experienced hire team will be pleased to assist you.

OPTION 1 CPA CRANE HIRE
When hiring a Crane under CPA Crane Hire terms and conditions, the customer takes responsibility for the lift, and must have a nominated Appointed Person /Lift Supervisor on site who has the knowledge, experience and understanding of all aspects of the Lifting Operation. Before the lift takes place the appointed person (or nominated Lift Supervisor) must present the method statement and risk assessment to the Crane Operator. Also under CPA Crane Hire terms and conditions when ordering a Crane the customers must provide evidence of adequate insurance cover, which can be arranged by Ainscough as an extra if required.

OPTION 2 CPA CONTRACT LIFT
Should you decide to take the CPA Contract Lift option for peace of mind, Ainscough will visit site to plan the lift and will then prepare a detailed method statement/risk assessment prior to the Lift. On the day Ainscough will supply the Crane Operator, Appointed Person/Lift Supervisor, risk assessment/ method statement and will take responsibility for the Lifting operation. In addition Ainscough will provide necessary insurance cover.(For more details on CPA Contract Lift please contact any one of Ainscough’s national network of depots.)

In these competitive times, we are totally committed to continuing to invest in and set the highest standards of safety throughout the organisation. Every Ainscough Crane Hire employee undertakes a tailor-made health and safety induction, and is given a wealth of health and safety documentation in an easyto-follow format. We issue regular safety bulletins through our ‘Safety Net’ magazine, copies of which are available from the Health and Safety department on request. Ainscough Crane Hire have achieved the prestigious ISO 9001 (quality management), ISO 14001 (environmental management) and ISO 18001 (safety management) standards at all depot locations, and are proud to have achieved Investors in People status throughout the company. A regular audit programme helps ensure that our cranes and lifting equipment are maintained at the highest standards within the industry.

TRAINING
Ainscough Crane Hire believes that training is an investment, and we are committed to training our employees to the highest standards within the industry. All operators hold an LGV licence (the legal minimum requirement) and a valid CPCS card, as well as being specifically trained on each and every crane they operate. Additional training is carried out as needed, allowing us to meet customer requirements for a range of industries.
