WorkSafe Victoria Small Business Safety Program
VCOSS offers FREE OHS advice visits to Victorian community sector organisations with up to 50 employees (EFT, not including volunteers) through the WorkSafe Victoria Small Business Safety Program. All you need to do is register and an independent consultant will visit your workplace for up to three hours to provide expert advice on OHS and help you put together a Safety Action Plan, free of charge. All applicants are required to provide information about their organisation and their occupational health and safety needs. SMALL BUSINESS OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY (OHS) PROGRAM
WorkSafe Victoria provides up to 3 hours of free safety advice to Victorian small and medium businesses (50 employees or less) by providing an independent consultant to assist with health and safety. This service includes development of a simple safety improvement plan. The OHS consultant can assist your workplace in any of the following areas: Identifying hazards in the workplace Assessing risks Using audit tools Managing risk Applying the ‘Hierarchy of Control’ to risk – a useful tool for identify workplace risks Establishing a risk control register Identifying required training Consulting with team members to establish OHS management processes
Eligibility The program is open to all Victorian community sector organisations employing less than 50 employees (full time equivalent, volunteers not included). All organisations are required to register and provide information about their organisation and their occupational health and safety needs.
