(A Regularly Scheduled Conference)
4th Thursday, Monthly, 8:00 – 9:00 AM

Coordinator: Jennifer Willert, MD
Need(s): Developed as a subspecialty group with clinical responsibilities to Hematology/Oncology patients
who expressed larger interest to explore diversity, and medical interest where the protocols were more complex.
Subspecialty education is needed to support Board recertification, hospital privileges and state re-licensure.
Objective(s): Update group and subspecialties on current state of the art/ gold standard therapy for childhood
Hematology. Update group and subspecialties on current state of the art/ gold standard therapy for childhood
Oncology. Update group and subspecialties on current state of the art/ gold standard therapy for childhood Bone
Marrow Transplant.
Education Design: Didactic and panel discussion and formal handout provided. Computer Presentation Unit
and digital imaging also utilized.
Target Audience: Oncology group and consultants. 10-20 estimate, 80% physicians.

2. Provide oral disclosure from the podium for all speakers even if the speaker has identified negative
disclosure and encourage speakers to provide written disclosure on their first presentation slide.
3. Obtain and forward to CME, Disclosure documentation from all faculty speakers including the course
planners/coordinators.
4. Provide Written Attestation of Disclosure policy on the Attestation form provided by the CME department.
Course coordinators are asked to have this statement available at each conference along with disclosure
statements for attendees. The course coordinator is responsible for providing a dated sign-in sheet for each
conference identifying topic title and principal speaker. The sign-in sheet is be copied and filed in the
coordinator’s office with the original forwarded to the CME department, MC 5021, after each program.
All course brochures, syllabus and other documents mentioning CME credit must include the following
accreditation statement:
Accreditation: Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego is accredited by the Accreditation Council for
Continuing Medical Education to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians.
CME Credit: Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego designates this educational activity for a maximum of
1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) TM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of
their participation in the activity.
Additional Accreditation Statements that may be included:
Psychologists Accreditation Statement: Mandatory Continuing Medical Education for Psychologists
(MCEP)--MCEP now recognizes continuing educational credit for courses accredited by APA, CME-CMA-
ACCME and ABPP. Psychologists attending our conference will receive CME accreditation through Rady
Children's Hospital-San Diego.
American Academy of Physician Assistants: AAPA accepts Category 1 credit toward the AMA
Physician’s Recognition Award from organizations accredited by the ACCME. The AAPA has complete
reciprocity with the ACCME.
CA Nursing: The California Board of Registered Nursing recognizes the use of Category 1 Continuing
Medical Education credit toward credit for contact hours. Report “CMA Category 1 Credit” ACCME
Provider.
CA Pharmacists Continuing Education: CE coursework must pertain to the practice of pharmacy…
Pharmacists may use courses which have been approved for continuing education by the Medical Board of
California… towards their California continuing education requirement. (Section 1732.2(b) of the California
Code of Regulations.) This activity was designated for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s).TM
