printer and copier

updated 02/08/09 PRINTER AND COPIER GUIDELINES HP LaserJet 4250 PRINTER: DO NOT reset any of the printer settings on the computers. E-mail Bethany Reeb (breeb@unm.edu) or search her out if you have a problem. Bethany has promised to attend to reported problems as soon as she is able. You may, however, load paper into the printer tray 2 (but only if you know how). COPIER Account Procedures: 1. Fill out the copier account form with a 5 digit numerical code. We suggest that you do not use your SS# or birthdate since that information is relatively accessible. 2. Put the forms in the “Copier Payments” box in Room 129. 3. New codes will only be added on Fridays. NO exceptions. 4. Bills will be distributed monthly. Accounts not partially paid by the next billing date will be turned off. All charges must be paid before your account will be reactivated. Accounts will ONLY be reactivated in the next billing cycle. NO exceptions. Therefore, if your account is turned off for non-payment, it will be at least a month before you can have it reactivated. 5. Copy account payments should be paid by check and placed in the “Copier Payments” box in Room 129. Make sure you stamp the check. 6. Each person can only have one account for the copier. 7. Try to keep track of your use to avoid any unauthorized copies. Report any suspicious use to Matt Sutherland msuther@unm.edu, who is in charge of the billing for the 2005-2006 academic year. Copier Rules: 1. Copies will cost 6 cents per copy. Double-sided copies will be charged as 2 single-sided copies. 2. The copier is for use by graduate students and faculty only (NO undergraduates). First come, first serve. 3. Be courteous. If someone is waiting, limit your copying. 4. Maintenance: This copier is NOT the responsibility of the office. DO NOT ask Mary, Elise or anyone else in the main office for assistance. DO NOT attempt to fix paper jams or other problems unless you are a trained technician. Please notify Mary or Elise if there is a problem so they are aware that the machine needs attention, however, they will not fix the problem. Honor Code: Use of the equipment indicates your endorsement of the aforementioned rules, procedures and guidelines of use. You also agree to intervene and report any violation of the rules and procedures. Please report violators to Matt Sutherland (msuther@unm.edu) Room 129 Copier Code Form five-digit account code (0-9). No more then 2 identical digits in a row. Name (please print) Signature
