Connect to the wider world Are you fed up with the contrived way in which textbooks deal with the topic of criticising data presentation, for example? I've found that getting my students to watch The Immorality of Believers and the Virtue of Atheists2 generates a highly enjoyable debate. (Tip: I use a framework which considers whether the graphs are correct, whether the original data is sourced/checkable, whether the right data has been used to test the hypothesis and whether irrelevant cues, such as body language, art or music, are used to influence the audience unfairly.) Connecting to the wider world is also of great benefit in some of the Study Plus units.
