I think it was his use of the example of Zacchaeus and others, as listed in the last paragraph of his article, to make a point for greater inclusion. Zacchaeus certainly did not end up wanting to change Jesus' position, but was willing to allow Jesus to change his position. It seems they are intricately connected.
