If you are not aware of what you're thinking in the time leading up to competition and a negative, destructive thought streams through, you will find yourself in a losing frame of mind and body and not know why. If you've ever found yourself suddenly nervous and tense for no apparent reason, if you've ever had a sudden crash of confidence, or if you've ever made an uncharacteristic mistake on the track, you can assume that somewhere in the chain of events there was a negative thought that infected your mental state.
