Bold and confident; two characteristics local entrepreneur Merrily Orsini made apparent the moment I was greeted in her expertly self-designed, sculpture-adorned garden. With calm grace and a persistent smile, Lue gabbed about her professional journey from the primitiue days of computer programming in the late' 60s, to social work, and onto several entrepreneurial ventures.Merrily's home is a literal illustration of her eclectic lifestyle. Every space the eye lands is filled with stunning glass art or captivating canvases. We sat in her home gallery as her story evolved to present day endeavors: running her strategic marketing communications company, Corecubed. Clearly, tech savvy, Merrily confesses, "I love to see how technology can be used to make the world better. It's been such a good thing for me."I was interested in technology and computers as a student at UK. I worked on the first Apple computers in big airconditioned rooms. My first job was as a computer programmer and analyst in '69.1 then went from social work, to having two babies, to renovated houses. Just before starting Corecubed, I had gotten into home health care and ran Eldercare for 17 years. Now, through Corecubed, I help clients create high-impact campaigns to launch or re-brand products or companies.
