AVT In 2004, the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children (RIDBC) received a major grant from the Australian Federal Government to support the ongoing development and expansion of an innovative program known as RIDBC Teleschool. RlDBC Teleschool currently provides support to 80 preschoolers and 33 school age children across Australia as well as a small number of children through an international pilot program. Videoconferencing sessions are familycentered and focus on providing the parents with information needed to understand their child's hearing loss as well as fostering the parents' ability to develop their child's listening, speech and language skills throughout their daily routines.
