You probably could, but you can only decide that for yourself. By nature, contractors are entrepreneurial and optimistic. Most contractors tend to wait too long before reducing overhead. They hope to sell their way out of a slower market, which may be an unrealistic approach. Remember that every dollar cut means a dollar saved. Every dollar sold only becomes profitable if the job is performed as estimated and the accumulated gross profit from all the jobs is enough to cover your overhead.
