A smaller cow herd leads to smaller calf crops for 2008 and 2009. "We're going to continue to see limited supplies of feeder cattle available. From a price standpoint, that's all well and good." Tight supplies have bolstered cattle prices the last five years, he said. "Bottom line, supplies are generally tight."
