                      Working with Pathogen Genomes
28 February-6 March 2010, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

 There is no course fee for academics. Commercial applicant fee is £1000.
 The course will be taught in English.
 Only full applications will be considered - all applicants must specify their
research project and how the course will aid their research.
 All applicants must specify a sponsor - this is a research supervisor who
knows your work. The sponsor must fill in the sponsor's section, stating how
the course will benefit the applicant’s research and guaranteeing travel costs
for the course (either full costs if no bursary is applied for, or any costs over
and above the bursary award sum). Applications without a sponsor or
    sponsor's letter will be rejected.
 All applications and sponsor letters should arrive no later than 30 October
    2009.
 The decision of the Selection Committee will be final.
 Bursaries are available to scientists from non-commercial institutions only.
 Bursaries will be awarded by the Selection Committee, based on merit of the
applicants. The decision of the Selection Committee is final.
 The maximum bursary will be £750, for travel and accommodation
assistance. The total bursary award will depend on the number of applicants
of high merit and their travel/accommodation costs.
 Applicants will be notified whether they have obtained a place on the course,
and whether they have been awarded a bursary by or around 1 December
    2009.
 Participants must aim to arrive for the start of the course, and not plan to
depart before the scheduled finish time. It is very disruptive to the instructors
if participants arrive late or depart early. Non-attendance during the course
may be reported to the Supervisor or Sponsor.
 Participants must have appropriate travel and medical insurance for the
duration of their stay. The Wellcome Trust will not be responsible for any
travel costs incurred (outside of bursary payments, where awarded), nor
    medical costs.
 Bursary awards will be paid towards the end of the course, upon production
of original receipts for travel (economy/budget/second class) to participants
    who have attended the course.
 No bursary payments will be paid to any accepted applicants who do not
    attend the course.
 If you wish to apply for a bursary, please complete a bursary application
form and read the overseas bursary awards terms and conditions.
Applications without a sponsor’s letter of recommendation stating why
you need the bursary will be rejected.
