Big Idea

       In accordance with the state’s five-year technology plan, Illinois
       will provide a 21st Century education for all.
       1a. Maintain and sustain and expand our existing infrastructure to ensure digital
       equity.
       1b. Articulate NETS for students into Illinois Learning standards?
       2a. Develop teacher evaluation that measures incorporation of 21st CS
       2b.Teacher evaluations incorporate 21st CS moves from optional to required.
       3a. School districts ensure that teachers have adequate opportunities to meet
       evaluation requirements.
       4a. School Boards and policy makers ensure that teachers have adequate
       opportunities to meet evaluation requirements.

       I’m a tech director in your legislative district.
       I’m really concerned that Illinois is losing over 6,000 jobs each month.
       To make sure that we remain competitive, we do need your continued support.
       Illinois has laid a foundation by developing a strong state network.
       As you already know, the state’s technology plan says that we must provide a
       21st Century education for all. Only you have the power to establish the policy
       necessary to make this vision a reality. We can’t afford to have our kids be less
       than the best in our competitive world. I would really like to discuss this with you
