Centre refurbishment
The Geological Survey of
Queenland (GSQ) core library
facility at Zillmere has recently
undergone a facelift with
accommodation provided
for the AuScope HyLoggerTM
and associated core handling
facilities. These include
additional storage racks, a
refurbished core inspection
courtyard (now fully enclosed
and weatherproofed while
still providing natural light),
new core layout tables and an
extended loading dock.

The new $4.8 million drill core
facility at Mount Isa is due to
be opened in July 2010.
The Mount Isa City Council
approved the development
application on 26 August
2009. Tender documents were
completed and released on 30
September 2009 and tenders
closed on 21 October 2009.
Construction is due to be
completed in April 2010
followed by fit out in time for
the opening.
