Food Drive Girl Scouts Feeding Florida Together • 2009 Sponsored by Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida to benefit: Local food banks need your help to stock their pantries and prevent hunger in our communities! Join us for our first-ever food drive as a NEW Council. Together, we will commemorate Girl Scout Week 2009 (March 8-14) by doing our part to feed our neighbors. Please bring your non-perishable donations to either GSSEF Service Center during Girl Scout Week. Together, we can reach our goal of… 50,000 pounds of food Here are all the details: • Drop off your Troop’s non-perishable food donation to either GSSEF Service Center during Girl Scout Week 2009 (Sun., March 8 – Sat., March 14). and have your donation “weighed!” • EVERY POUND COUNTS! If you don’t live near a Service Center, please contact you Membership Manager or your Service Unit Volunteer Manager. We will all help you arrange delivery of your donation to a Service Center during Girl Scout Week. • Individual girls and Troops are asked to collect food by: decorating “Drop” boxes at local churches/synagogues, the meeting location, schools, or Troop parent’s place of business; a collection for the families within the Troop; or Troops may choose to purchase non-perishable food items with proceeds from their Troop treasury. • Each girl participant will receive a FREE “2009 GSSEF Feeding Florida Together” participation patch. Patches are pre-ordered by Friday, February 27, 2009. Use form below. • FIVE fabulous top prizes will be awarded to the Five Troops with the greatest overall poundage. • All food donations will benefit the Daily Bread Food Bank (serving: Broward, Miami-Dade, Monroe & Palm Beach counties) and the Treasure Coast Food Bank (serving: Martin, Saint Lucie, Okeechobee and Indian River counties).
