Driving with Cell Phones strictly prohibited
Effective 01 MAR 06, all operators of privately-owned,
or Government-owned motor vehicles on any of the local Navy
properties are strictly prohibited from the use of cellular
phones or other similar, hand-held audio-visual devices, in
any mode, while operating their respective motor vehicle.
Prohibition is also extended to use of these devices while
walking, jogging, etc. along roadways.
This policy applies to ALL Military Personnel, Civilians,
Family members, Contractors, Tenants, and Visitors
Effects Government and Privately owned vehicles.
Police/Fire/EMT exempt in performance of duty
Effects all cell phones, (with or without a hands free
kit) head phones, ear phones, navigation systems and other
similar devices (cd player, mp3 player, IPODS, etc)
The use of these devices on designated bicycle and
running paths and sidewalks in the pedestrian zone is
