							              Dump Truck Crashes into Police Officer in His Vehicle


   On Wednesday October 7, 2009 at 12:02 PM, a motor vehicle crash occurred at a road
construction site at 25 Cabot Street between a ten wheeled dump truck owned by White Trucking
and operated by Mr. Stephen Saldi from Groveland, MA and a vehicle owned by Officer Sean
Connolly of the Beverly Police Department. At the time of the crash, a thunder storm was
passing through the area. Officer Connolly, who was working the private detail at the
construction site, entered his vehicle to put on his rain gear. While doing this, Officer Connolly
and his vehicle were struck by the dump truck.

  Officer Connolly and Mr. Saldi were both transported to Beverly Hospital’s Emergency
Room for evaluation. This accident is under investigation, and additional details will be released
when available.
