If there are any questions regarding this Enterprise Architecture (EA) section please send an email to EA@VA.gov Instructions for Completing the SRM Table: Microsoft Office The FEA SRM provides a framework to identify reuse of applications, application capabilities, service Excel 97-2003 Worksheet components, and business services and processes. IT investments can be service providers or consumers. Service providers allow consumers to reuse their business and technical capabilities. The instructions below are for initial completion of the FEA SRM table; however, if this table was completed in the past, consider reviewing it and updating it following the instructions below. 1. Open the attached Excel file. Open the “SRM Table” tab. 2. Look down the list of FEA Service Components and identify those that this investment provides or consumes by entering a “P” or “C” in the applicable cells. Definitions for each service component are included in the list. [If you cannot find a FEA SRM component that describes the service, create a new row in the appropriate section of the table.] 3. For each service component identified above, provide the following information, if applicable: a. Agency Component Name: If there is an investment-unique name for a Service Component that the investment provides or consumes, enter that name here. If not, leave this field blank. b. Agency Component Description: If there is an investment-unique name for a Service Component that the investment provides or consumes, enter a description of it here. If not, leave this field blank. c. FEA Service Component Reused: A reused component is one being funded by another investment, but being used by this investment. Record the name of the reused service component funded by the other investment. Leave this field blank if no reuse. d. FEA Service Component Reused UPI: A reused component is one being funded by another investment. If this investment pays for an internal service, record the Unique Project Identifier (UPI) from the VA Exhibit 53 for that investment that funds that service. If the investment is external to VA, email us at EA@VA.gov and we will help find the UPI for that external investment. Leave this field blank if no reuse. e. Internal or External Reuse?: “Internal” reuse is within VA. For example, this investment is reusing a service component provided by an administration or office within VA. A good example of this is an E-Gov initiative service being “reused” by VA. If so, enter “External” in this column. If this investment is not obtaining this service via reuse, then enter “No Reuse” in this column. f. BY Funding Percentage: Provide the percentage of this investment’s BY requested funding amount used for each service component listed in the table. If external, provide the percentage of the BY requested funding amount transferred to another agency to pay for the service. The percentages in this column can, but are not required to add up to 100%. Leave this column blank if no reuse.
