Head West towards Junction City/Airport. Go approx. 6 miles West on Beltline to N.W. Expressway Exit 7b, turn right at stop. Go approx. 2 miles (heading North) on N.W. Expressway to 90751, the Center is on the right-hand-side. If coming in on Hwy 99, turn east onto Awbrey Ln. (adjacent to Eugene Airport). The tables will be open throughout the show Friday and Saturday with tables closing Saturday evening. If you have any items that you would like to donate please take them to the show office. SHOEING MEASUREMENTS- Please note: Make sure your shoe measurements meet the criteria specified for the class entered. These are: Plantation up to 1-1/2” by 1/2”; Light shod and Trail Pleasure 3/4” by 3/8”; Country Pleasure factory manufactured keg shoe. Please see Rules for complete information. These rules will be strictly enforced. Entry Fees Futurity Classes (*must be futurity nominated)______________$16.00 Qualifying Classes $16.00 Performance Championship Classes $30.00 WIWHA Regional Futurity: Ribbons and money to 10 places in the Weanling and Yearling divisions; Ribbons to 10 places and money to 5 places in two and three year old classes. Regional Futurity Entries must be nominated and complete SHOW ENTRY FORM to reserve stall and indicate which futurity classes horse will be in. There is a $16 process fee for Futurity class entries. Futurity entries may enter regular show classes on the same entry form. No cross entries between Weanling and Youth Weanling Colt and Filly classes or Yearling and Youth Yearling Colt and Filly classes. Youth may only show geldings and fillies in the YEARLING youth class. General Rules: 1. All exhibitors must pay for stalls and one class per horse entered (deadline Friday, September 12, 2008 postmarked date) If not entered or if the entries and/or stalls are not prepaid or accompanied by a blank check there will be a $10.00 per stall and $10.00 per horse charge. A signed blank check or full payment by check/cash must be made before numbers will be issued. 2. When classes are entered and the horse does not go in the class the class must be paid for unless the class is canceled or an official scratch slip is filled out and in the office before the class goes into the ring. No refund for any class when the horse is excused by the DQP. Horses must be entered in the class by the end of the session prior to the session in which they wish to show. The horse's name must be on the class sheet before it can be checked by the DQP. 3. No chains on plantation horses on the show grounds. 4. Juvenile exhibitors must not have reached their 18th birthday on January lst of the show year. Stallions are not allowed in Juvenile Classes. This includes the Yearling classes. Junior Exhibitors 13 & Under must wear an ASTM/SEI approved equestrian helmet per WIWHA Rules. 5. All horses must be entered using their full registered name and number. Registration papers or copies (front and back) must be available for presentation. If the ownership of a horse changes at the show, the new owner must fill out and sign a new entry blank. Copies of registration papers of mares, stallions and all Futurity nominations are required. Entries must be shown with markings unaltered. 6. Cancellation of Classes: Management reserves the right to cancel or combine classes in which there are less than three entries. 7. All classes will be conducted by the rules of Western International Walking Horse Association/NHSC. For specific rules or class description, please refer to the most recent rule book available at the office. Rule Books will be available at the office at $10.00 per copy. Every Walking Horse will be inspected by the DQP in accordance with the revised rules of the Horse Protection Act. Only one handler will be allowed with the horse during inspection. Once inspected horses will not be allowed to leave the warm-up area until the class is called. No more than two (2) persons may be present with the exhibitor in the warm-up area. First place horse must report back to DQP, although any horse may be asked to report back to the DQP for re-inspection after their class. 8. Exhibitors must have valid amateur, youth or trainer's cards. Western International Amateur cards and Youth cards may be obtained at the show office. 9. Halter winners: All first and second place winners in regular halter weanling and yearling classes must show back in Championship classes. 10. To qualify for performance championship classes, horses must have been shown and judged in a three-gait class in its division for a three-gait championship class or in a two-gait class in its division for a two-gait championship. Juvenile riders must qualify in Juvenile classes to compete in Juvenile Championship. No cross entries in any two and three gait championships with the same horse and rider combination. 11. Gate holds up to three minutes (for good cause) upon notification to the paddock manager will be allowed. 12. The judge may grant time outs when the exhibitor pulls into the center of the arena. Time outs will be granted for replacement of shoes, replacement of broken equipment or in other instances where the judge finds a valid reason. Thrown Lite Shod or Trail Pleasure shoes will be weighed and measured. 13. An exhibitor may be excused from the ring by pulling into the center of the ring and obtaining permission from the judge or ringmaster. 14. English or Western tack may be used in any pleasure class not designated as either. 15. All horses entered in the pleasure division will be ridden or driven by an amateur unless stated as Open. Trail Pleasure and Country Pleasure classes are Amateur only. This rule applies to all under saddle classes including the futurity. 16. Novice: Not to have won three blue ribbons at WIWHA affiliated shows (or any other HIO affiliated Shows i.e. NHSC, FOSH) in the performance division in which they are eligible. Eligibility of a novice entry is established as of the date of closing of entries. 17. The Western International Walking Horse Association and Show Committee, and the Oregon Horse Center will not be responsible for any articles that may be lost, destroyed or stolen, although every precaution will be taken to protect property and exhibitors. The Show or Management will not be liable for any injury sustained in any way to exhibitors, employees or spectators. Management reserves the right to refuse or accept conditionally, to cancel entries, disqualify exhibitors, prohibit exhibition of entries and cancel premiums without claims for damages. 18. Any person, who fails to fulfill his/her financial obligations at the show and after billing, fails to settle, will be reported to WIWHA for collection. If not taken care of at that time, they will be put on suspension and their names put on the WIWHA/NHSC Suspension List. Those on suspension will not be allowed to show at WIWHA/NHSC affiliated shows. A $30.00 billing fee on accounts unpaid after the end of the show and a $30.00 service fee for NSF checks will be made. 19. The trainer must sign all entries, or if you do your own training you must sign as trainer. Parents or Guardians must also sign for juvenile riders. 20. RV hookups must be reserved directly with The Oregon Horse Center. Stable Fees: $75.00 Stabling box stalls Show (Thursday to Sunday) $25.00 Day stall fee (midnight to midnight) $15.00 Haul in fee (no stall) Stalls will be furnished with bales of shavings. Additional shavings will be available for purchase. Contact Julie Harper, Oregon Horse Center, if you are arriving before Thursday at 8:00 am or stayng over Sunday night. Early arrival and late stay fees will be collected by The Oregon Horse Center. Stalls will NOT be assigned until the entry is received and fees are paid. Please do not dump water buckets in stalls, do not dump manure in garbage cans and remove all nails in your stalls before you leave the show grounds. 21. Ribbons and Trophy will be given in Championships. Purse Money will be paid to five places in $200.00 Performance Championships. Ribbons awarded to five places in all qualifying classes to eight places in Championships and youth classes. Money payout $60, $50, $40, $30, $20. 22. All riders, drivers, handlers and attendants must wear the attire as specified in the rule book, when entering the show ring. 23. Vendors will be charged $50 for space.
