After intensely studying behaviorist, cognitivism, humanism, and social learning theories, I believed that I was ready to accost adult learners and skillfully deploy my learning into professional practice. When I acquired my first job teaching adult learners, which was in a correctional setting, I learned almost immediately how to situate theoretical knowledge from practical experience and how to aggregate the two for a cohesive adult learning process.
