Despite the significance of the discussion of health-related behaviors as a positive model for aging (see, for example, Dionigi, 2006) as well as the movement to celebrate health and vitality in later life rather than focusing on deterioration, disconnection, and unhappiness, the intention of this article is to highlight the significance of the continued nexus of physical activity, sports, and masculine self-image in later life.
