Warehouse markets brace for global slowdown by ProQuest

With the global economy anticipated to decelerate in 2008, expect trade and the movement of goods to show a corresponding downshift. That trend has the potential to cause a decline in leasing and letting activity in warehouse markets around the globe, according to a report by Colliers International Property Consultants Inc. In US and Canadian warehouse markets, expect more sluggish results in 2008 compared with 2007. However, Canadian markets, and particularly those in Western Canada, will continue to operate above trend. Land prices are also relatively modest by European and Asia Pacific standards.
