James T. Cobb, Jr., an associate professor emeritus at the Univ. of Pittsburgh, has been appointed acting director of the Univ. of Pittsburgh at Bradford's new Energy Institute. Cobb will develop the Institute, which is being set up to foster the study of both traditional fossil-fuel applications and renewable energy sources for the benefit of student learning, commercial projects and the regional economy.
