EU farmers decry failure to approve GM crop imports

According to a new report, the European Commission has the power to rubber-stamp the applications to import four genetically modified types of maize and one type of potato into the EU. But EU farmers are complaining that with feed prices rising and suppliers in the Americas increasingly planting GM seeds, the industry faced ruin without a speedier approval process.
