On Missionary Roads by ProQuest

Jozef Cardinal Tomko served as prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples (the Vatican's "Mission Department") from 1985 to 2001. In this capacity he had a "privileged observation post" (p. xi), allowing him to experience the vast field of missionary activity. During this time he undertook over 100 pastoral journeys to mission territories; in addition, he was fortunate to accompany Pope John Paul II on all his missionary visits.
