The process of continual learning is a critical part of developing employees and sharing knowledge within an organization. The benefits, in terms of delivering enhanced performance in the work place and staff retention, speak for themselves. But, the biggest challenge facing training managers and HR professionals is that any learning workshop or conference forum needs to be interactive and engaging to encourage active learning. E-learning is commonly associated with "advanced learning technology", which refers to the technology and associated methodologies of learning using multimedia. Audience engagement technologies are an emerging tool where technology-based materials and face-to-face sessions are combined to educate, share ideas and encourage new ways of working. Audience engagement can be seen as a tool for blended learning. When utilized and combined with a good facilitator or training professional, audience engagement systems can enhance the productivity of development sessions.
